We are already having some hot days here in Texas so this week we whipped out the popsicle making supplies and created healthy homemade blueberry popsicles!
I wanted to come up with a cold snack that is fun for summer without it being super terrible for you. We live a pretty balanced life of healthy foods and splurge food so unhealthy snacks aren’t out of the question, but I figured we would be eating these homemade popsicles quite a bit over the summer months so I decided if I could make a healthy version I should.
We eat quite a bit of Greek yogurt at our house. The Chobani flavors are our favorite, especially the Chobani flips! Each time we go to the grocery store we all gather in the yogurt aisle to pick out our favorite flavors.
It never fails, B always chooses the blueberry yogurt. Everytime. So I knew she would LOVE the popsicles if we used her favorite flavor.
It is only May in Texas, but we have already brought out the popsicles AND the sprinklers…yep, it was almost 90 degrees this week already! It is going to be a hot summer.
Healthy Homemade Blueberry Popsicles
This recipe is super healthy y’all. If you are on a diet (or just a healthy eater) and want a sweet snack on a hot day this one is totally it.
On top of that it is really easy to make. If you want to make it a fun summer activity for kids they will get a kick out of making their own popsicles and picking their flavors out.
The hard part is getting them to wait for the popsicles to freeze haha!
But obviously, by the looks of things, these popsicles were a huge hit at my house.
For this recipe we used Chobani Blueberry Greek yogurt. It has actual blueberries at the bottom of the yogurt cup so when you mix them up and freeze them in the popsicle holders you will have real frozen blueberries inside of the popsicles.
And if you’ve never eaten frozen blueberries before you are truly missing out on all of its yumminess (another healthy snack idea for people on a diet).
Healthy Blueberry Popsicle Recipe
You can really use any Greek yogurt flavor. My favorite is the coffee flavored so you can totally bet I am going to make coffee flavored popsicles at some point this summer.
This recipe made us 4 popsicles!
3 5.3 oz Chobani Blueberry yogurt cups (or 16oz of blueberry yogurt)
2 tablespoons honey
Pour yogurt into a mixing bowl.
Pour yogurt mixture into popsicles molds.
Freeze for about 4-6 hours.
That’s it! This is seriously the easiest summer snack recipe ever and it is so fun to make…and eat!
