I read quite a bit this month…9 books! Some were amazing and some were just okay, but here are my brief thoughts on everything I read in January 2022!
Everything I read in january 2022
Darling Venom by Parker S. Huntington
This book was pretty good. I loved it at first, but then it just seemed like it drug on for too long. It is very emotional and there is some pretty heavy content relating to suicide so be sure to read up on that to make sure it is a right fit for you!
All in all, it was a decent book. It has INCREDIBLE reviews on Goodreads so it might have just been that I wasn’t in the mood for such a heavy book!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
THIS BOOK. So so good. I have no idea why I put this one off for so long. It is heartbreaking and beautiful and nothing like I expected it to be. 5 stars for sure!
The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins
Great concept. Probably didn’t have to be an entire book. It was really short though and I read it quickly. There are a ton of “testimonial” like screenshots of how people used the 5 second rule to change their lives.
The basis is that you count down from 5 and you take action. Don’t give yourself a chance to talk yourself out of getting things done.
Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover
As always, Colleen Hoover made me fall in love with the story and characters. This one probably made it up there to one of my favorite Colleen Hoover books. Probably in the top 3. I loved it. Currently, there is no link on Amazon for the paperback. I am not sure if they are back-ordered or what. BUT this book is free on Kindle Unlimited!
A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn
A cute rom-com and an easy read. The book has excellent ratings on Goodreads, I think it was pretty good. I gave it 4 stars. It’s a fake dating and kind of even an enemies to lovers book. Lots of funny bantar.
This was a reread for me. This series is excellent. Like phenomenal. I have seen lots of people posting about it recently so I wanted to read it again since it had been a couple of years.
This book is a dark romance so if you aren’t a fan skip this one.
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
I thought this book was super cute 4 stars for me! I actually read it because I knew the movie was coming out. I finished it after I watched the movie and really enjoyed both of them! Its a workplace romance/enemies to lovers romance.
Winter in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand
My sister in law gifted me 4 Audible books and so I got this series of 3 books. I am super picky about Audiobook narrators. If they don’t fit what I have in my head then I usually just give up on them, but I had listened to 28 Summers on Audible so I thought I’d try this series. I loved it! Fantastic narration. It is a bit of a beach read and mystery with a touch of romance and a lot of family drama. I am listening to the second book now!
I downloaded this on my Kindle after seeing it on TikTok. It was alright, but I wouldn’t say it was amazing or anything. If you’re looking for an easy Kindle Unlimited read I could reccomend 10 other books that I enjoyed more than this. With that being said, TONS of people over on TikTok have loved the series!
