Okay, so how’d you like week 1 of my deep cleaning routine? I’m going to be honest, I slacked off a couple of days and ended up spending one whole day making up for it. That’s life though and my kitchen is still thoroughly deep cleaned! I took the weekend as a break and now I’m so ready to get week two started. Just as a recap …Last week I started a deep cleaning routine that is perfect for busy people. Every week I will have 5 tasks meant to be completed Monday- Friday. My goal is to keep each task under an hour long so that my routine is broken up and won’t leave me hating my deep cleaning routine (too much). I usually complete this twice a year, which is often enough for me.
Stress free deep cleaning routine week two…
MONDAY: Clean walls and ceilings
I use my vacuum attachments for this and it works really well, but tools like this tool might make things easier. Clean everywhere, even the closet walls! It can get surprisingly dusty in there.
TUESDAY: Clean doors, switch plates, ceiling fans, and light fixtures
This sounds like a lot, but can be done fairly quickly. The longest part for me is ridding the doors of tiny little dirty handprints, but even that is done pretty easily with my Magic Eraser. The rest of it I clean with my all purpose cleaner and a microfiber rag.
WEDNESDAY: Vacuum edges of rooms and wash baseboards
I really hate doing this, but it needs to get done. This baseboard brush makes it pretty easy. I would suggest to vacuum after you scrub because of the dust and dirt that will come off of the baseboards.
THURSDAY: Clean windows and dust blinds
Dusting the blinds is another horrible task made easier by new cleaning tools. Now I can get this done quickly with a blind duster. Use a glass cleaner to get the windows shining again and don’t forget the window sills!
FRIDAY: Vacuum furniture and dust all hard surfaces
If you have children this is especially important. For some reason, even though (mostly) food is only allowed in the kitchen, I find goldfish and cheerios mysteriously hidden in the couch cushions. I hope you find money instead of what I found.
