We have only one toddler and it is about ten times harder to keep clean now that I have toys scattered from one end of the house to the next. Sometimes I really really fall behind on keeping the house clean and once I get behind it seems like it’ll take me days to get caught back up. Even though I know what needs to be done, I still fall behind somedays. This is the daily cleaning checklist that I TRY to follow and that I have found works best for our family 🙂
- Laundry (one load per day)
- Unload dishwasher in the morning (load/run it at night)
- Spot sweep/vacuum
- Make Beds
- AM house wide pick up
- Wipe down bathroom counters and toilet
- Load dishwasher after dinner and wipe down the kitchen sink and counters before bed.
- PM house wide pick up
Doing one load of laundry per day really helps keep that overwhelmed feeling away. Laundry is by far my least favorite thing to do so actually doing one load per day is really hard for me, but I feel so accomplished once I do it! I hate cleaning so at first doing this everyday seemed horrible, but it takes me in all about an hour per day and is keeping my house a lot cleaner than before! Keeping extra cleaner and paper towels in the bathroom helps me simplify my bathroom tasks. I just started keeping a basket in the living room for B’s toys this makes picking up them up a lot easier.
