This crock pot BBQ chicken is THE BEST for an easy weeknight meal. All that is to it is a couple of really simple ingredients and a few hours to let the crock pot do its thing. These sandwiches also could be a hit for serving large amounts of people at a BBQ!

crock pot bbq chicken ingredients
To make these you will need:
- 3-4 chicken breasts
- 1 (18 ounce) bottle of BBQ sauce (I ALWAYS use Sweet Baby Ray’s, but feel free to substitute your favorite).
- 1/2 cup of water
Toppings: I like to have dill pickles and coleslaw for the sandwiches!
How to make crock pot bbq chicken
STEP ONE: Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot.
STEP TWO: Pour BBQ sauce over the top of the chicken breasts and top with the 1/2 cup of water. Stir liquid around to evenly coat chicken breasts.
STEP THREE: Cook on low for 6 hours. When chicken is cooked, use two forks to shred into small pieces. Mix shredded chicken breast and BBQ sauce until well coated. Then turn the crock pot to “warm” and let sit for 30 minutes.
STEP FOUR: Serve on hamburger buns or on top of a baked potato and enjoy!
