Have you ever had to scramble around last minute and clean before your guests arrive?
I definitely have. Whether it be that I was procrastinating or the guests were unexpected I have found myself trying to tidy up last minute.

Maybe I have done it one to many times because now I have it down to a science and know exactly what needs to be cleaned to make my house look presentable enough for guests.
First thing is to make sure your floors are clean. Before I even begin my cleaning routine I turn my bObsweep robotic vacuum on and let “him” do the dirty work! Seriously, it saves me so much time being able to do the rest of my cleaning while our robotic vacuum does it’s job.
The worst thing ever is to take your shoes off at someone home and have the bottoms of your feet/socks become filthy because their floors are dirty. We have all hardwood floors so it is really bad if we don’t stay on top of it!

Clear the counters of any clutter or things that don’t belong in the kitchen.
Wipe the counters down with an all purpose cleaner.
Load the dirty dishes from the sink into the dishwasher (or hand wash them) and if you have any additional time take the trash out in case it is stinking up your kitchen!
Do a 15 minutes house-wide pickup where everything gets put where it belongs and there is nothing random laying around. This includes folding the blankets that are thrown around in the living room, fluffing the living room pillows, and making sure all of the kid toys are put away.
Have your kids to put their toys where they belong and this step will go by a lot quicker!
Take a few minutes to wipe down the counters and sink, declutter the countertops, and wipe down the mirror (if necessary). Then clean the inside of the toilet with a toilet brush and wipe the seat down.
The house-wide pickup should cover messy bedrooms, but be sure and make all of the beds. This will make the room look significantly more put together than it would with unmade beds!
