Grilled chicken pesto pasta is the perfect light summer meal with delicious flavors from the grilled ingredients and pesto sauce!
This is one of my favorite meals to make both for my family and for guests. It is super simple and a great light pasta dish for summer grilling!
Grilled Chicken Pesto Pasta Ingredients
You will need:
- 1 -1.5lbs chicken breast
- 1 bunch asparagus
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- 12oz rotini pasta
- 8oz basil pesto sauce
How to make Grilled Chicken Pesto Pasta
STEP ONE: Season chicken breast with salt and pepper then grill chicken breast until it has an internal temp of 165 degrees.
STEP TWO: Cut asparagus into one-inch pieces and cut cherry tomatoes into halves.
STEP THREE: Drizzle the tomatoes and asparagus pieces with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
STEP FOUR: Grill asparagus and tomatoes on a cast iron griddle placed on the grill, in a foil packet, or on a griddle (like a Blackstone grill).
STEP FIVE: Cook rotini according to its package.
STEP SIX: Dice chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
STEP SEVEN: Combine rotini, chicken breast, asparagus, and tomatoes. Once combined, add the jar of pesto sauce and stir until evenly distributed.
NOTE: You don’t actually HAVE to grill this recipe. It tastes much better on the grill, but will also cook just fine in a pan on the stove!
