Do you celebrate Mother’s Day for first time expecting moms? I believe that although they haven’t yet experienced motherhood outside of pregnancy, they are still going though one of the most difficult stages of becoming a mother and deserve to be recognized for that.
It is different for every family…some might simply have breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day and some might shower their pregnant loved one with gifts, but the important thing is making sure Mother’s Day for expecting moms is a special one!
Thank you Incredibundles for sponsoring this post!
Mother’s Day for Expecting Moms
Personalized Gift Bundle
We have a friend that is pregnant this Mother’s Day and we used the “create your own bundle” feature on Incredibundles.com to order her a few things that she can use once the baby is born. There are many pre-packaged bundles for anyone who is in a hurry or just want to buy a themed bundle too! We ordered her the gift of…SLEEP! haha!
Seriously, we decided to create her a bundle of items that will help the baby sleep which in turn will get her some sleep! I loved the Aden + Anais muslin swaddle blankets when B was a baby because they were light and breathable, but still great for tight swaddling which made her sleep SO soundly.
In my opinion they are a total must have when having a new baby. We took them everywhere are used them for other things too like to cover her up when the sun was directly on her or to lay out on the ground for a play area.
We also added a sound soothing stuffed animal into the bundle! It has controls on it so that the parent can set it to different sounds to help the baby sleep. We never had one of these, but when I saw it I knew it was something that our friends could use with their new baby girl.
Incredibundles also has “daddy bundles” which you could order for your expecting dad friends for Father’s Day too! They really have a wide variety of items and combinations of items so you can make it work for any kind of gift…baby shower, first birthday, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc! I know we will for sure be utilizing this site again for future gifts!
B thinks that the baby gift is for her 😉
Massages are a good gift no matter whether you are pregnant or not, but giving the gift of a massage to a pregnant women will put you at the top of their “favorite person” list! Pregnancy is stressful on both the mind and the body so a massage is perfect to help relieve some tension. I use Groupon to look for good deals on massages!
If you can’t do a massage look into getting them a gift card to get their nails done or just pampering them at home by giving them some bath bombs or other “spa” like gifts
Satisfy their Craving
It can be as simple as that! Ask them what they want to eat for the day and give them what they want. Satisfying a pregnant women’s cravings is a perfect way to make her feel special.
If you don’t have a day to do that then you can buy them a gift card for a restaurant you know that they have been craving.
Gift them a photoshoot to remember their pregnancy by! I didn’t have one done with B and I totally regret it!
There are many places where you can go outside of the doctors office to have 3D sonograms done. They will give you a set amount of time and record the sonogram on video and also get mom and dad some memorable 3D pictures of the new baby!
These are just a few ideas for making the expecting mom in your life feel special on their first mother’s day! Here is a post with some ideas for what to get the veteran mom on her Mother’s Day!
