One of our favorite snacks at our house is a yummy fruit smoothie. They are super healthy and kids LOVE them.
Blueberry Fruit Smoothie
This is a good way to get a ton of nutrients in your kiddos and great for helping rehydrate them this summer.
We are smoothie freaks around here and my daughter lights up like I am offering ice cream every time I say the word smoothie. Which is fine with me!
Although this is a simple fruit smoothie, we often use smoothies as a way to sneak veggies into our kids food! We have made smoothies with kale in them before and my family didn’t have a clue!
Our favorite blender to use for smoothies is a Ninja Auto IQ. The blades are very sharp and makes blending frozen fruits or ice really easy. I really don’t like it when my smoothies taste choppy with ice and the Ninja is one of the only blenders I have tried that can always blend completely smooth.
The amount of water you want to add into your smoothie is completely up to you. The more water you add the less thick your smoothie will be. For this recipe I used 1 cup, but you might want to start out with less and build up to get the consistency you want.
Blueberry Fruit Smoothie Recipe
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 Fiji apple
1 cup water
Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth.
Add more water and blend again if consistency is too thick.
